Pin of the Week: Super Bowl Sunday Addition

So,

Super Bowl Sunday is just a few days away! If I was at home, I’d be attending a party loaded up with tons of snacks {made by my mother obviously} and family. But, unfortunately I’m missing out on that one. Actually, a lot of students here at HPU are. So we have to adjust and make traditions of our own.

Since sophomore year, my friends and I get together to watch the game and we each bring an hos-d’oeuvre. Frankly, this year I’m running out of ideas. I want to bring something festive, healthy, and delicious. So, I turned to Pinterest and found “Apple Cookies.”

Cute, right? And I even thought of a way to make them look like little footballs. They’re super easy to make. First you take one apple, cut it into circles, and remove the core. Spread some peanut butter on each slice, and add any toppings you want! I substituted the coconut shavings and pecans for marshmallows {i love s’mores}! Finally, I topped them all off with chocolate chips and BAM!

Now, I’m ready for whatever Super Bowl Sunday has to throw at me. {hopefully it’s not footballs, I can’t catch}

P.S. here’s how my Apple Cookies turned out!

Let me Introduce myself..

Hey Everyone! Emily here.  This is my first time blogging and I’m realizing it’s a little awkward to start a post. Hopefully i get better at this, but time will tell. I had a really hard time figuring out what to blog about, but then after my meltdown about graduation it became clear. I need to learn how to be an adult and Pinterest can help me.

Sounds a little naive and kind of crazy, but it’s true. Just ask yourself: When you need a creative idea or a new recipe, where do you go?…

OK– it’s clear to you now. Moving on. I was recently hired at a news station in High Point, North Carolina. Exciting, but scary. It means this Philadelphian will be a southerner after graduation. It also means I will officially be living on my own. No more dorm rooms, meal plans, or classes.

Instead there will be:

1. Cooking

2. Decorating

3. Paying Bills

4. Finding a cheap gym.. or working out from home.

(I’m sure there’s a ton more, but that will be a harsh reality soon enough.)

I have 4 months to prepare for this big change. That’s 16 weeks.. 112 days…2,688 hours.

I can tackle it.. one pin at a time.

Until next time…
